Century Casinos Reports on Progress With the Celebrations Casino and Hotel Project in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., July 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Century Casinos, Inc. (NASDAQ:CNTY) announced today that Mr. Roy Bricker, President of Professional Casino Consulting Services, has been selected as lead consultant to assist Century Casinos, Inc. with developing the Celebrations Casino and Hotel project in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. In this capacity, Mr. Bricker will advise on design, layout, planning and development, construction and operational management. Some of Mr. Bicker's previous employment includes Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Casino ABS as well as Chief Operating Officer and acting Chief Executive Officer of the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC). "Roy has an impressive background of experiences and is a welcomed addition to our team for this project," said Chairman and CEO Erwin Haitzmann. Century Casinos, Inc. is the only one of six applicants to move to step seven of eight steps of the casino licensing process in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This step is not an approval or a guarantee that the Company will be issued a casino facility license but is the "Investigation stage of the Casino Facility Application Process" which is a thorough due diligence investigation of the applicant and the key persons associated with the selected proposal. This investigative stage by the AGLC is well underway. Once this step is completed, the eighth step will be a recommendation to the Board of the AGLC, by the Commission, for issuance of a casino facility license. A decision is anticipated by the end of this year. If a casino license is awarded to the Company, The Celebrations Casino and Hotel project is planned in two phases. The first phase, to include the casino with 600 slot machines and approx. 42 table games, is projected to be open within twelve months of license award and finalizing funding arrangements. Subject to satisfactory performance of the first phase, phase two of the Celebrations Casino and Hotel is planned to open 36 months later, and would include an expansion of the hotel and a 10,000 square foot convention center.
