MasterCard Worldwide and Cardtronics, Inc., today announced an exclusive alliance providing Prepaid MasterCard issuers and program managers an opportunity to expand their ATM footprints through Cardtronics’ Allpoint Network, America’s largest surcharge-free ATM Network. The agreement provides Prepaid MasterCard issuers with the tools to compete effectively for new business and participants with surcharge-free access to more than 32,000 ATMs within the United States.

“MasterCard is committed to delivering market solutions that differentiate our prepaid offerings, strengthen our programs, and provide meaningful benefits to our issuers, program managers and cardholders,” said Neil Dugan, Vice President, U.S. Markets, MasterCard Worldwide. “Providing an extensive surcharge-free ATM network is increasingly important to winning new business across consumer, commercial and public sector segments. By partnering with Cardtronics’ Allpoint Network, we can help our prepaid partners to cost-effectively expand their ATM footprints, strengthening their prepaid offerings, and enhancing the cardholder experience.”

Allpoint has a significant presence in all 50 states, with one out of 12 ATMs in the United States participating in its network. Allpoint’s surcharge-free ATMs are located in highly trafficked retail locations like Target®, 7-Eleven®, and Costco®, providing convenience to cardholders and driving increased foot traffic for the retailers.

“The MasterCard Prepaid program, powered by Allpoint, will enable MasterCard issuers to meet and exceed the required levels of surcharge-free access on many payroll, tax, and government programs while meeting increasing general purpose cardholder demand for convenient surcharge-free ATM access,” said Ben Psillas, President, Allpoint Network. “The scope of surcharge-free access coupled with top retail locations is a critical component to winning new business and increasing cardholder satisfaction. With Allpoint, Prepaid MasterCard cardholders will have access to the nation’s largest surcharge-free ATM network.”
