California Micro Devices' Board of Directors Elects Manuel H. Mere an Officer MILPITAS, Calif., May 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- California Micro Devices today announced that its Board of Directors has elected Manuel (Manny) H. Mere an officer of the company. His position and responsibilities as vice president, supply chain management, a position he has held more than two years, will not change. According to Robert V. Prior to his current position he served as vice president, thin film operations. Before joining California Micro Devices in 1995, Mere was vice president of manufacturing at Cypress Semiconductor for its Bangkok and San Jose, California plants. He has also served as vice president of operations for Xicor. Earlier in his career, he held engineering management positions at IBM and National Semiconductor. Mere holds a BSEE and a MSEE from the University of Miami, as well as a MS in Systems Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. Other Recent Appointments Heber Clement has been appointed director of operations and Syed Husaini, director of digital design. Clement will report to Manny Mere, vice president, supply chain management, while Husaini will report to John Jorgensen, vice president, engineering. Clement brings over 20 years of experience in operations to his new role. After early engineering roles, Clement's career focused on running large manufacturing operations, including foundry and subcontractor management, both in the U. S. and in Asia, at Intel Corporation, Cypress Semiconductor, Dallas Semiconductor, Catalyst and Maxim. Husaini has over 20 years of experience in high-performance digital systems and mixed signal IC development with GTE Government Systems, Plessey Semiconductors and Cirrus Logic.
