Procera Networks Inc. (AMEX: PKT), a developer of Evolved Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) solutions providing traffic awareness, control and protection for complex networks, today reported that the company secured 120 new PacketLogic customers in the second half of 2008. Seventeen of these customers bought the new PacketLogic(TM) PL10000 product that Procera launched May 12, 2008.

"This has been a year of growth," said James F. Brear, Procera's President and CEO. "We launched the PL10000 platform in mid-May of last year, and by end of year it was our largest revenue contributor. This has been a truly successful product launch. We've transitioned the product portfolio, and the company with it, at the right time to stand unchallenged today at 80 gigabit DPI capacity."

The seventeen PL10000 customers are spread over Procera's three geographical regions -- Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific -- and the list contains cable MSOs, mobile operators, universities and large ISPs. The PL10000 series comes in three configurations, starting with the multi-channel gigabit Ethernet PL10002, followed by the 10-gigabit PL10005, and all the way up to the PL10014 that supports 80 gigabit of throughput.

"We chose the highest-performance PL10014 after thorough comparison of different DPI vendors and platforms," said Russell Skingsley, CTO of Vietnamese Telecommunications Provider FPT Telecom. "It's the product that best meets our current and future capacity requirements whilst allowing us the complete set of features we need. Procera's level of accuracy and market leading throughput allows us to provide optimal use of precious international bandwidth for our customers. Our aim is to be the premier provider of IP services in Vietnam and Procera's DPI solution is a key component of this goal."

Procera also released version 12 of the PacketLogic firmware in May, which enabled a number of unique technical features. These unique capabilities were utilized by Swedish ISP Bahnhof who deployed PacketLogic to monitor their peering traffic to other networks.

"We offer 100 Mbps Internet connections at $15 a month and must therefore manage our network resources in an intelligent way," said Andreas Norman, Executive VP at Bahnhof. "PacketLogic's unique ability to accurately identify, present and manage network traffic over multiple systems in a geographically dispersed and asymmetric network, made it stand out from the competition. Being able to use the BGP routing information to set policies was the icing on the cake that drove the final decision in Procera's favor."

"We've built a very strong platform for growth for 2009," Brear continues. "FPT Telecom is a testimony of the demand for our high-end products and how we've transitioned to our updated product portfolio. Bahnhof is a validation of our technical excellence. This unprecedented demand highlights the increased need for business intelligence at the world's leading Service Providers."
