Grimmway Farms recalled certain carrots due to a potential risk
of salmonella, following a routine internal test.
The company said no illnesses have been linked to the
recall.
Grimmway, based in Bakersfield, Calif., listed six UPC codes for
recalled bagged carrots sold in stores, including two under the
Albertson Cos. brand O Organics. It also recalled certain shredded
and chopped carrots sold to food manufacturers and foodservice
distributors.
Grimmway said it is "diligently working with the regulatory
authorities, including the FDA, to resolve this issue."
