DAVOS--In an apparent criticism of the U.S.'s recent approach to trade, China's Vice Premier Han Zheng said Tuesday that Beijing would keep promoting multilateral cooperation, including overhauls to global-governance institutions.

In a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos following President Donald Trump's remarks, Mr. Han said "International affairs shouldn't be dictated by any one country or a small group of countries."

Given how closely economies are tied together, global division of labor is necessary to deal with difficulties faced by economic globalization.

"Despite the protectionist and unilateral moves by some countries, China will not stop pursuing higher quality opening-up and will not follow their footsteps to move in the opposite direction of globalization," Mr. Han said.
