Merck & Co. (MRK) Friday said its Merck Animal Health unit received U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its Bravecto Plus topical solution for cats.

The Kenilworth, N.J., drug maker said the extended-duration topical solution for cats is indicated for the external and internal parasite infestations of ticks, fleas, heartworm, intestinal roundworm and hookworm.

Merck said Bravecto Plus, which provides protection for up to two months with one application, will be available in the coming months.
