                             Domestic Trend 
 
   In the south, long and medium grain milled rice prices steady.  Parboiled 
prices steady.  Second heads and Brewers steady.  Rice by-products: Rice Bran 
prices 5.00 to 40.00 lower; Millfeed and Rice Hulls steady on limited trades. 
Rough rice supplies are tightening up as old crop is ending and new crops 
beginning.  April 22 NASS rice crop progress report:  percent planted in 
Arkansas 53, Louisiana 90, Mississippi 40, Missouri 35, and Texas 74.  Rice 
emerged percentage:  Arkansas 11, Louisiana 73, Mississippi 10 and Texas 62. 
   In California, medium grain milled rice prices steady.  Second heads and 
Brewers steady.  Rice by-products: Rice Bran steady.  Rice hulls market not 
established as most mills continue to pay for disposal of rice hulls. 
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Monday 23rd, May 18 closed .075 higher at 
13.065; Jly 18 closed .075 higher at 13.145; Sep 18 closed .035 higher at 
12.20.  US dollar index on Monday settled at 90.93.
