EFI Honored with Prestigious EDP Award for Best Textile Printer
June 12 2017 - 9:00AM
Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (Nasdaq:EFII) received a leading
print-industry honor from the European graphic arts trade press –
the EDP Award – for the Best Roll-to-Roll Textile Print technology.
Judges recognized the EFI™ VUTEk® FabriVU® 180/340 soft signage
printer at the 11th Annual EDP Awards ceremony during FESPA 2017 in
Hamburg, Germany. The EFI VUTEk FabriVU series of digital fabric
printers offers everything needed to produce high-quality images at
true production level speeds — all while keeping running cost low
and profit opportunity high.
“We are honored with this recognition. It reinforces the
remarkable amount of dedication and effort our research and
development teams put into establishing a best-in-class technology
to help our customers capture the remarkable growth seen in the
soft signage market,” said EFI Regional Vice President of Sales
Paul Cripps.
High quality, high versatility on re-usable soft
signageThe VUTEk FabriVU printers have proven to be
especially successful in helping signage and display companies move
into higher-value soft signage display work as it offers an
unparalleled combination of productivity and quality with fast
speeds and printing resolutions up to 2,400 dots per inch (dpi).
Customers can print dazzling displays, high-density backlit signs
and more with ultra-high-resolution four-color printing. Soft signs
produced with the printers retain the drape and soft hand customers
prefer.
The 1.8m FabriVU 180 and 3.4m FabriVU 340 models also offer the
distinct advantage of printing on transfer paper or
direct-to-fabric with the same inkset. That capability saves
considerable labor and machine downtime compared to other printers
when changing from transfer to direct applications, on top of the
expense of discarded ink that is wasted when clearing ink
lines.
FabriVU-printed graphics that can be washed and dried without
wrinkling, folded without leaving marks and reused. The lighter
weight and ability to fold fabric also significantly decreases
shipping and storage costs as compared to more conventional
signage.
Complementing EFI’s VUTEk FabriVU and Reggiani textile printers
is the industry’s only complete end-to-end workflow available for
signage production, from advanced web-to-print design and eCommerce
software that integrates with EFI Fiery® digital front ends
offering industry-leading color management and productivity tools,
to a comprehensive and certified EFI Midmarket Print Suite MIS/ERP
workflow that delivers highly accurate scheduling, estimating,
accounting and more for superwide-format graphics production.
EFI VUTEk Hot PicksIn addition to the exciting
award from EDP, EFI VUTEk printers also recently received coveted
Hot Picks Awards from Australian industry publication Print21
Magazine. The VUTEk FabriVU 340 soft signage printer and the VUTEk
LX3 Pro hybrid roll/flatbed LED inkjet printer both received the
award, which was presented to highlight the top print technologies
shown at the recent PacPrint tradeshow in Melbourne.
