real-time HD video and WebRTC transcoding for AudioCodes’
customers
Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), the services acceleration
company, and AudioCodes, a leading provider of converged voice
solutions, today announced the completion of joint certification
and interoperability testing of the AudioCodes WebRTC-enabled
Mediant family of Session Border Controllers (SBCs) and Radisys’
MediaEngine™ cloud-accelerated transcoding portfolio. The
integrated solution allows large enterprises and service providers,
with growing real-time video transcoding needs, to add
video-enabled communication services to their IP networks easily
and elegantly, while fully preserving and protecting their
investment in voice SBCs.
“AudioCodes helps its customers deploy Skype for Business,
Contact Center and other unified communications services by
delivering IP communications platforms to support interworking
among VoIP, WebRTC as well as TDM communication silos,” said Yehuda
Herscovici, vice president, Product, AudioCodes. “We wanted to
support our customers’ growing demands for video services and
Radisys’ industry-leading MediaEngine TRF complements AudioCodes’
Mediant SBCs to address the high-performance WebRTC video
transcoding requirements.”
“AudioCodes is a respected leader in the industry for its SBCs
and VoIP Media Gateways,” said Grant Henderson, vice president,
Media Engine and Corporate Marketing, Radisys. “We are pleased to
partner with AudioCodes and leverage our strengths in video and
WebRTC transcoding services. The combination of Radisys’
transcoding products and AudioCodes Mediant SBCs delivers a
pragmatic and compelling solution for enterprise customers and
service providers that seek to add HD video and WebRTC capabilities
to their networks with minimal cost and disruption.”
Radisys’ MediaEngine TRF products add advanced voice and video
transcoding capabilities to IP networks. Available as both physical
and virtualized transcoding solutions, the TRF family delivers the
scalability and proven reliability required to meet the most
demanding interworking needs for advanced video services. Scaling
independently from, and complementing existing network elements
such as SBCs, Radisys’ MediaEngine TRF portfolio supports real-time
video transcoding, including transrating and frame rate adaptation
for a broad range of codecs and helps bridge the divide between
