ZURICH--Swiss seed and pesticide company Syngenta AG (SYNN.EB)
said Wednesday that longtime chief financial officer John Ramsay
will retire at the end of September.
He will be succeeded by Mark Patrick, who currently heads
commercial finance for the company.
Mr. Ramsay also served as the company's interim chief executive
officer until June. In that role, "he guided the company through a
period of uncertainty with great skill and judgment and was central
to the transaction agreement with ChemChina," said current CEO Erik
Fyrwald.
In February, Syngenta agreed to be purchased by government-owned
China National Chemical Corp., commonly known as ChemChina, in a
deal worth $43 billion.
