CAMPBELL, Calif., Feb. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society
for Information Display (SID) today announced it will again partner
with market intelligence firm IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), the leading
global source of critical information and insight, to organize and
produce the Business Track during SID's Display Week, which runs
from May 22-27, 2016, at San Francisco's Moscone Convention Center.
Comprising four separate daylong conferences held over three days,
the Business Track will bring together executives from more than 60
display industry companies and IHS analysts to address a range of
business issues facing the industry, and explore effective
strategies for achieving success in the changing global
marketplace.
"The Business Track has proved highly popular with the managers,
executives, investors and business leaders who take part in Display
Week," said Amal Ghosh, SID
president. "Attending one or more of these conferences allows them
to hear unique perspectives on the topics covered and to interact,
in a more intimate setting, with the speakers and panelists who are
delving into unique business and market challenges associated with
the display industry. The networking opportunities alone are worth
the price of admission."
First up on Monday, May 23, will
be the Business Conference, whose theme this year is "Innovation:
Move Ahead or Get Left Behind." The conference will explore where
innovation is happening – as well as where it has slowed, e.g., the
traditional PC market – and why. Overall, the conference will look
at a range of technologies central to current and ongoing growth in
the display industry. These include TVs, digital signage, mobile
PCs, augmented reality/virtual reality displays, automotive
displays and snapshots of new display technologies that have the
potential for major impact. Each of the five sessions will be
followed by a lively panel discussion.
Tuesday, May 24, and Wednesday, May 25, will feature the two Market
Focus Conferences, focused respectively on touch and wearables –
two more technology areas that are playing a significant role in
shaping and defining the future of the display industry. Each
Market Focus Conference will concentrate on the critical market
development issues facing each of these technologies. As with the
Business Conference, the conferences on touch and wearables will
each feature presentations and panel sessions with executives
throughout the display supply chain.
Sponsored by Cowen & Company, the Investors Conference
returns for its 12th year also on Tuesday, May 24.
As in past years, the Investors Conference brings together public
and private investors, business professionals, and the leading
industry innovators driving advancements in the global display
ecosystem in a program designed to uncover opportunities and make
new connections.
Fees for each of the four conferences include a continental
breakfast, lunch, refreshments and networking events, access to the
exhibit hall and Tuesday morning keynotes, and electronic copies of
the presentation material, as well as admission to the evening
networking receptions. The preliminary agendas/speakers and
general information on each of the events can be found at
