ROCHESTER, N.Y., Dec. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Bascom
Research, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Document
Security Systems, Inc. (DSS) (NYSE MKT: DSS), received a
date for a case management conference in its dispute with Facebook
and LinkedIn.
On December 2, 2014, a hearing
took place to address Facebook's motion for summary judgment, which
alleges that the Bascom Research patents are invalid under the
patent-eligibility (Section 101) standard established in Alice
Corp v. CLS Bank International. No decision was rendered during
the hearing and Bascom Research expects a ruling on the summary
judgment motion within approximately 30 to 45 days.
Following the hearing, the court scheduled a case management
conference for January 30, 2015 in
order to set forth dates for future events in the litigation.
A complete list of the company's active disputes are listed on
the DSS website. Further information regarding patent litigation
involving DSS investments is available to the public at the PACER
