Comcast Teams Up With Hall-of-Famer for a
One-of-a-Kind Twitter Autograph Session; Promotion Kicks Off on
November 23 During NBC’s Sunday Night Football Broadcast
Comcast today announced “#SignMyTweet,” a one-of-a-kind
Twitter-based live autograph session featuring NFL Hall-of-Famer
Emmitt Smith where fans get the chance to receive a signed,
oversize version of their own personal tweet. The virtual event
will kick off on November 23 during NBC’s Sunday Night Football
broadcast between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants and be
hosted by Xfinity, Comcast’s residential service brand and the
nation’s largest video and high-speed Internet provider.
“In the U.S., half of all TV-related tweets are about live
sports, so we wanted to do something fun that captured that
engagement and rewarded fans,” said Peter Intermaggio, SVP
Marketing Communications. “‘#SignMyTweet!’ brings together great
technology, an outstanding TV experience and the excitement of live
sports, all things that customers have come to expect from Xfinity.
The chance to have a tweet signed by the NFL’s all-time leading
rusher will draw sports fans of all ages.”
Here’s how it works:
At some point during the first half of Sunday’s game, Smith will
send a tweet to get the giveaway started. Over the next 24 hours,
any fan who wants their tweet signed will have to hustle to tweet
to @XFINITYSports with the hashtag #SignMyTweet. Smith will sign
tweets the next day from 8-10pm and mail oversized copies to
winners as a souvenir.
“It’s a chance to give back and engage with fans in a fun
way,” said Emmitt Smith. “And to be a part of their first live
Twitter-based autograph session should be a pretty cool experience
– I’m looking forward to it.”
Smith is known for his illustrious football career, which
included three Super Bowl championships as a member of the Dallas
Cowboys and the honor of being the only player to have won a Super
Bowl MVP, NFL MVP and NFL Rushing Crown in the same season.
Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as part of the Class of
2010, Smith is the NFL’s all-time leading rusher, having amassed
18,355 yards during his 15 seasons.
Xfinity customers have access to the most live sports and the
fastest in-home WiFi. With the X1 Entertainment Operating System,
viewers can follow all the action like never before with cool
features like the sports app, live in-home streaming and cloud DVR,
