MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Car Charging Group, Inc. (OTCQB: CCGI) ("CarCharging"), the largest owner, operator, and provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging services, today announced that it has finalized an agreement with the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in Tennessee for the operation and maintenance of 27 Blink EV charging stations. These Blink Level II chargers were originally deployed in association with the U.S. Department of Energy's EV Project and ECOtality, the former owner of Blink-related assets.

CarCharging now owns and operates the 27 Blink EV chargers, which are available at numerous locations throughout Nashville and Davison County, including Centennial Park, the East Community Center, the Historic Courthouse Parking Garage, Shelby Nature Park, and the Nashville Public Library.

"Once again, we have completed a transfer of existing Blink chargers to a CarCharging operating agreement, allowing us to provide the necessary service and maintenance for these stations," said Michael D. Farkas, CarCharging's Founder and Chief Executive Officer. "I'd like to personally thank Nashville and Davidson County for their support for EV adoption and continued interest in aiding the Blink Network to expand."

Blink Level II chargers are able to rapidly recharge electric cars, and accept payment with the Blink InCard or major credit card via the Blink mobile application, Blink Network website, or Blink customer support center. Blink's InCard provides drivers with discounted charging fees for charging stations on the Blink Network, the software that operates, monitors, and tracks the Blink stations and all of its charging data. Drivers can easily request Blink's InCard at www.BlinkNetwork.com and can pinpoint EV charging station locations using the map on the website, as well as the Blink and CarCharging mobile applications.
