Red Giant Entertainment Sends Creators to ALA 2014, the American Library Association's Annual Conference in Las Vegas

'Medusa's Daughter' Creators to Forge New Relationships With Libraries

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwired - Jun 26, 2014) -  Red Giant Entertainment Inc. (OTC: REDG), an innovative Intellectual Property company specializing in high quality characters and content for use in a variety of media and entertainment, is pleased to announce that the company will participate in ALA 2014, the American Library Association's annual conference in Las Vegas. This year's event begins today and runs through the following Tuesday.

Founded in 1876, the American Library Association (ALA) is a non-profit organization promoting libraries and library education internationally. ALA is the oldest and largest library association in the world with more than 62,000 librarians, trustees, and supporters. Its annual conference is one of the largest professional expos of its kind in existence, typically drawing over 25,000 attendees. This year's event features such notable celebrity speakers as Jeff Bridges, Jane Fonda, B.J. Novak, and comics legend Stan Lee.

Red Giant is sending the award-winning creators of multi-format literary project Medusa's Daughter, author Jonathan Scott Fuqua and illustrator Steven Parke, who will be on site throughout the conference to meet their fans and forge new relationships with library buyers. Limited edition Medusa's Daughter bookmarks will be available at Diamond Book Distributors booth #2015.

Medusa's Daughter utilizes the "sequential photography" technique to tell a graphic novel story in a groundbreaking way, released in three formats: as a graphic novel, as a prose novel, and in a short format for reluctant and dyslexic readers. "We are hoping to meet and greet librarians who would enjoy a set of books that appeal to a Young Adult to Adult audience that reads the way they do," said Parke. "It's a 'first-of-its-kind' book so it should generate some excitement."

Jonathon Scott Fuqua is the author of three award-winning young adult novels including The Reappearance of Sam Webber (ALA Alex Award, School Library Journal Best Book of the Year, Booklist Editor's Choice) and DARBY (Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award, Book Sense Top 5, Mark Twain Award finalist). In addition, Fuqua penned DC Comics' Vertigo graphic novel In the Shadow of Edgar Allan Poe, which was nominated by YALSA as a Popular Paperback for Young Adults (2005), and children's graphic/chapter book Catie & Josephine, a Washington Post Book of the Week.

Steven Parke's A-List clients have included Fortune 1000 firms such as Warner Brothers, HBO, Discovery Channel, Arista Records, DC/Vertigo Comics, Houghton Mifflin, NBC, and A-list entertainers like Prince, David Bowie, Bon Jovi, Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, and AC/DC. Mr. Parke utilized his decades of experience with the evolution of digital art processing to create the groundbreaking graphic novel I, Paparazzi, published by DC Comics' Vertigo imprint, which received a grade of "A" from Entertainment Weekly. He then teamed with Fuqua to create In the Shadow of Edgar Allen Poe, the first-ever all digitally photographed graphic novel, which was nominated for YALSA's best horror novel in 2005. He subsequently created the story concept and photo-illustration for the Fuqua-penned children's book Catie and Josephine, published by Houghton Mifflin in 2004.

Diamond, which handles a significant portion of the industry's millions of dollars in sales to the Library system, is Red Giant Entertainment's distributor for the Library trade, selling such art books and graphic novels as The Cartoon Art of Mike Deodato, Jr., Drowtales, The Mike Deodato, Jr. Sketchbook, Wayward Sons, and others -- including Medusa's Daughter. For Library purchases, contact gallan@diamondbookdistributors.com
