business of the Company, declared a price increase in all regions
by up to $0.30/kg. for its TBBA
(tetrabromobisphenol A) flame retardant (BA-59PTM), to take effect
May 1, 2014 or as contracts allow.
Matthew Sokol, General Manager of
Great Lakes Solution's flame retardant business, commented, "This
price increase is necessary to offset escalating raw material costs
and to support continued investment in our operations and supply
chain capability." TBBA is a brominated flame retardant with
primarily used in the manufacture of flame retardant printed wiring
boards- it is also utilized in the production of flame retardant
enclosures and cabinetry in electrical and electronic applications.

Technologies Corporation (Sensient) released its financial results
for Q1 2014. Q1 2014 revenue increased 0.7% YoY to $368.1 million (adjusted to remove the effect of
the non-strategic business). Adjusted operating income increased to
$54.3 million compared to adjusted
operating income of $49.1 million in
Q1 2013. Diluted earnings per share indicated a loss of
$0.04 in Q1 2014 versus income of

commented, "Sensient delivered a very strong performance in the
first quarter of 2014." Manning added, "The results this quarter
clearly demonstrate that our strategy is working. There is
additional upside potential for the margins in both businesses, and
