EIA: US crude inventories down by 6.4 million barrels

Commercial crude oil inventories in the United States, not considering those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), went down by 6.4 million barrels to 453.6 million barrels in the week ending April 19, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) stated in its report published on Wednesday.

Oil refinery inputs averaged 15.9 million barrels per day (bpd) during the week ending April 19, declining by 42,000 bpd compared to the previous week’s average. Refineries operated at 88.5% of their operable capacity. Meanwhile, gasoline production dropped and averaged 9.1 million bpd.

Crude oil imports went up by 36,000 bpd week-on-week to average 6.5 million bpd. Total commercial petroleum inventories fell by 3.8 million barrels last week.
