               The Wigmore Group plc ("Wigmore" or the "Company")

               Completion of Acquisition and Result of Open Offer


The Directors of Wigmore are pleased to announce that, following shareholder
approval at the Company's AGM on 22nd April 2002 and the Company's re-admission
to trading on AIM today, the acquisition of Speymill Contracts Limited
("Speymill") from Artisan (UK) plc is now complete.

Speymill provides construction and property refurbishment services to public
house, restaurant, hotel and leisure groups and specialises in building,
transforming, refurbishing and converting commercial, leisure and licensed
premises.

The Directors are also pleased to announce the result of the Open Offer, which
has raised £840,000 (before expenses) of new equity capital to fund part of the
acquisition consideration. Under the underwritten Open Offer, 5,886,533 Open
Offer Shares were applied for by Qualifying Shareholders, representing
approximately 21% of the £840,000 raised. Seymour Pierce Ellis has placed the
balance with institutional and other investors. A total of 83,785,860 ordinary
shares were admitted to trading on AIM today.
