1st assumption an investor should make:

1) VW is huge, so like any investor with cash - never gamble on one horse.
NOTE: VW executives have stated via video links (you'll have to look them up) that they are positive about the relationship and have a plant where QS batteries can be produced.. What we need to note is this: IF VW is wrong they'll adjust the plant for other purposes. Meaning that they have the capital to make mistakes.

2) do a search on who VW is partnering on with EV production. They are not placing all of their bets on just one horse. Try NorthVolt, Ecobat, etc - But my impression is that their focus is on QS and when we see that happen - this horse will run

After you have asked that question, I found some links on QS website to their Executives talking positively about QS. (why wouldn't they? You don't bash someone you hope will succeed!)

I'm waiting until I see something a little more definite from VW - I'm hopeful on this one - I'm not negative but I'd rather buy this at $6 knowing they have a firm deal for a defined $ amount and then I can determine what that is worth.

GL - I'll be here...I've been following them for awhile - I want them to succeed!!

I've been watching this one for 2 years now - one thing that might be of some concern is selling by Insiders. Take Jadgeep Singh sales for the last 90 days:
Date ------ - # sold ------ proceeds
08/19/2024 94,445 - $ 545,542.65
08/20/2024 - 47,076 - $ 269,467.73
09/17/2024 - 192,270 - $1,150,908.99
09/17/2024 - 57,690 - $ 345,326.57
10/07/2024 - 192,270 - $1,063,753.00
11/13/2024 - 70 912 - $ 357,899.96
11/14/2024 - 5,531 - $ 27,702.01

This doesn't necessarily mean one shouldn't buy it on the dips and it's certainly getting to a place, under $5, where it's been safe to buy.

Barchart is showing that there are 10 analyst who follow the company and here's the breakdown on how theiy currently view QS:

1 - strong buy
6 - hold
1 - moderate sell
2 - strong sell

https://www.barchart.com/stocks/quotes/QS/analyst-ratings

I'm waiting to see more progress towards production / sales - they have come a long way over the last couple of years. GL!

There's not delays, theyve said 2025 cobra implementation and ramp up by 2026.

They said eoy 2024 ship b samples and install cobra equipment.

They have been in track.

Just have no loose lips to sink ships so to speak. So no prehype for ER.

$QS faces a long and uncertain road to commercialization. QS is unlikely to generate meaningful revenues in the next couple of years, and its stock may face further volatility as it navigates the complexities of bringing its technology to market.

$QS Continues to hemmorage cash and running out. Competition has much better products. QuantumScape Corp (NYSE:QS) faces challenges in improving cell reliability, yield, and equipment productivity during the B-sample phase.

The company reported a GAAP net loss of $119.7 million for Q3, with adjusted EBITDA loss at $71.6 million, indicating ongoing financial challenges.

Higher legal fees and settlement accruals have pushed the adjusted EBITDA loss guidance to the higher end of the original range for 2024.

The transition from Raptor to Cobra process for higher volume production is ongoing, with full implementation expected in 2025, indicating potential delays in scaling up production.

The collaboration with PowerCo requires careful management to ensure successful industrialization and scaling, which could pose risks if not executed effectively.

07/11/2024 Press Release
PowerCo and QuantumScape Announce Landmark Agreement to Industrialize Solid-State Batteries

San Jose, United States / Salzgitter, Germany. Volkswagen Group’s battery company PowerCo and QuantumScape (NYSE: QS) today announced they have entered into a groundbreaking agreement to industrialize QuantumScape’s next-generation solid-state lithium-metal battery technology. Upon satisfactory technical progress and certain royalty payments, QuantumScape will grant PowerCo the license to mass produce battery cells based on QuantumScape’s technology platform.

Under the non-exclusive license, PowerCo can manufacture up to 40 gigawatt-hours (GWh) per year using QuantumScape’s technology with the option to expand up to 80 GWh, enough to outfit approximately one million vehicles per year. The companies believe this high-touch engagement represents the fastest way to achieve gigawatt-hour-scale production of solid-state technology to meet the growing global demand for better electric vehicle batteries. The agreement supersedes an earlier joint venture between the Volkswagen Group and QuantumScape to co-manufacture batteries.

QuantumScape share price Bullish Signal Reversed on 19-July-2024.

I bought some shares at $9. I start small amounts when I plan for the long term. I will keep adding on weakness in steps not exceeding its % presence in my Port.

Most of the good performance in my Port are mostly from the Mag Seven big caps. I am doing great especially this year. My value is almost tripled. But, it's hard to follow a large number of stocks I have. That is my challenge. I don't like to give too much time for stocks. There too many good things in life to pursue in life. I have many interests and hobbies. Health related matters come first of course. A balanced life is equally and more important than the balance in my stock Portfolio.

My small caps have been dormant or losing for the last few years. Many AI companies are subject to the mortality of other past experiences that irrational optimism at this time could hurt those unaware of the early phases of great new things like the Interned in the great bust in 2000.

The current market is dominated by AI. Though this is real, but the changes will take time. Reality has its own pace of what will or can be achieved in the next few years.

Most of the talk that is dominating now makes one feel as if everything is happening at the same time, and the excitement and enthusiasm creates an euphoric feeling and could lead to excesses. The AI is being easily seen in titles of companies to attract capital...including pennyland. Nano tech had decades ago kind of similar sounding situation and the few stocks I bought then went bankrupt. I think exaggeration could harm folks when too much of their port is largely devoted to AI. Maintaining a balanced port is basic. Just few thoughts.

BERLIN (Reuters) - Volkswagen will massively ramp up production of solid-state batteries developed with U.S. startup QuantumScape, both companies said on Thursday, as the German carmaker aims to bring the technology into more vehicles.

Under an agreement announced on Thursday, Volkswagen's battery unit PowerCo will receive the licence to mass-produce battery cells based on QuantumScape technology, pending technological progress and certain royalty payments, they said.

The deal replaces an earlier joint venture between the two companies, Volkswagen said. Volkswagen owns 17% in QuantumScape, according to its annual report, a stake that is currently worth $459 million.

Under the agreement, Volkswagen's battery unit PowerCo can manufacture up to 40 gigawatt-hours (GWh) per year using the QuantumScape technology, with an option to expand to 80 GWh, which is enough to equip approximately 1 million vehicles annually, they said.

Solid-state batteries can hold more energy than current liquid electrolyte batteries. Automakers and analysts expect them to speed transition to EVs by addressing their often limited range, which remains a major consumer concern.

"QuantumScape's technology is poised to enter a pivotal stage where PowerCo's specialized expertise, resources and global factories can help facilitate the transition to industrial-scale production," said PowerCo CEO Frank Blome.

The companies will target a product that will be scaled-up for integration into a Volkswagen Group vehicle series.

The agreement supersedes a joint venture between the two companies to co-manufacture batteries that was founded in 2018.

An independent third-party testing lab has validated Amprius’ 390 Wh/kg polymer electrolyte cell by successfully passing the nail penetration test per the requirements of section 4.7.4.4. of the MIL-PRF-32383 (Military Performance Specification).

The test is used to determine the feasibility of a specific product in combat scenarios. Cells tested in accordance with 4.7.4.4. shall not burn or explode, and the external temperature of each test sample shall not be greater than 338 degrees Fahrenheit (170 degrees Celsius) when penetrated by sharp objects.

When conducting the test, a 0.113-inch diameter stainless steel nail is driven through a fully charged cell at a prescribed speed. The cell is deemed to have passed if there is no smoke or flame following the nail penetration. The test video in real time, slow motion and infrared

Amprius’ innovative polymer electrolyte prevents the penetrating nail from creating a low resistance short circuit, as indicated by the minimal increase in the cell temperature after penetration and only a small decrease in cell voltage. After nail penetration the cell is still functioning and providing power, a critical capability for soldier wearable batteries

QS did an incredible job. Well done.

Thermal chamber test of 300C was awesome to see. Love it.

Providing raw footage of the testing along side of the data is an argument stopper.

Let’s see if AMPX follows up with something along those lines.
