Shares of Quantum-Si traded down ~32% on Monday after the company announced1 second-quarter earnings, including a 19% sequential decrease in revenue. According to management, revenue declined primarily because the company’s new software did not incorporate all the features that some customers had expected and because some customers faced implementation challenges. Quantum-Si is the world’s only provider of protein sequencing instruments, with its core technology based on proprietary time-domain sequencing that enables amino acid level resolution during experiments.
