Renee Shamblin, President, Biltmore Prep PTO said, "It is wonderful to have a school fundraiser where parents don't have to buy anything and kids can learn something about the environment and the importance of recycling, all at the same time.  We are looking forward to participating again next year!"

Second place was captured by St. Mary Basha of Chandler that collected 4.04 items per student and had the greatest volume of electronics of any school with more than 10 tons of electronic waste collected!

"We are thrilled with the results and what better way to raise money for your school than by educating students about the problems with electronic waste and allowing them to be the change agents." said Dan Fogel VP of Operations for youchange.

Dr Katie Root - Principal, Laguna Elementary, in Scottsdale Arizona echoed this sentiment. "What a wonderful contest! What a fabulous opportunity to teach the community about being responsible in disposing technology in environmentally friendly ways. Congratulations to the winners, which is everyone who participated. You are doing great work!"

In addition to adding more events, youchange is also expanding the number of participating schools and the geography serviced by these collection drives.

So for our upcoming Fall Challenge we are increasing the number of schools to 100 and the area of coverage will now include Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff schools.  We are also increasing the total prize money to up to $10,000.  In the past two weeks, since the end of our Earth Day Challenge, we have already signed up one third of the schools and expect to have a waiting list before the school year begins.
