ConAgra Foods announced today that for the second straight year it has been named to Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s (formerly CRO Magazine) annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens List. ConAgra Foods ranked 70th on the overall list, an increase of 23 positions over last year’s ranking. The magazine’s 12th annual list, it is known as one of the world's top corporate responsibility rankings based on publicly available information and is recognized by PR Week as one of America's top three most-important business rankings.

"We are honored to be named again as one of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens, and we’re pleased with the progress we continue to make in this ranking," said Chris Kircher, ConAgra Foods' vice president of corporate affairs. "The ranking reflects our strategic focus on doing the right thing for our communities and the environment, and reporting on our efforts in a transparent manner." Kircher joined a select group of Enduring Corporate Citizens (firms that made the 2009-2011 lists) at the New York Stock Exchange to participate in a panel discussion on sustainability as a competitive advantage and to ring the closing bell.

The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List is based on more than 360 data points of publicly available information in seven categories. The seven categories include: Environment, Climate Change, Human Rights, Philanthropy, Employee Relations, Financial Performance and Governance. The 100 Best Corporate Citizens are selected from among the large-cap Russell 1000 companies, based on data provided by leading ESG investor data firm IW Financial. The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List's open and transparent methodology is governed by a Methodology Committee of the Corporate Responsibility Officers Association. The 100 Best List's methodology is published in the 100 Best Corporate Citizens List issue of Corporate Responsibility Magazine, mailed to 20,000 subscribers March 9, and available now online at www.thecro.com.
