ConAgra Foods’ Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Joan Chow was honored this week by Brandweek Magazine as one of its 2009 “Marketers of the Year.” Brandweek’s award honors individuals who embrace both value and values, as well as unabashed creativity in marketing. Chow is profiled in this week’s Brandweek print issue and online at Brandweek.com. Chow and other winners will be honored at a special dinner reception tonight at the Central Park Boathouse in New York City.

Chow, who joined ConAgra Foods in 2007, was selected for her ability to take a “number of trusty-if-tired brands and put them back on a growth track” according to Brandweek. The magazine also said that “while other companies have driven their marketing departments to chase fads, Chow’s aim has been to take what already works and make it work better.”
