Alabama Secretary of State Introduces New Online Filing Options
June 17 2019 - 10:56AM
Business Wire
Alabama Interactive, in partnership with the Alabama Secretary
of State, has introduced a new business filing option available
online. Companies can now fully file Domestic and Foreign Limited
Liability Partnerships (LLPs) using the business services suite on
the Secretary’s official website. LLPs were previously available
online as a pre-file option, but implementing the full filings
online completely eliminates the need for business owners to make
the trip to the local office and stand in line to file their
business with the state.
Expanding the filing types available online assists not only the
local office by decreasing paper traffic, but also the Secretary of
State’s office by increasing processing times and therefore,
increasing office efficiencies. The Secretary of State’s goal is to
make filing a business in Alabama as convenient as ever, and
continuing to expand the list of available filing types does just
that.
Business owners can now file the below entity types online:
- Domestic LLCs (Available in Baldwin,
Elmore, Jackson, Montgomery and Tuscaloosa counties)
- Domestic Corporations (Available in
Baldwin, Elmore, Jackson, Montgomery and Tuscaloosa counties)
- Domestic LLPs
- Foreign LLCs
- Foreign Business Corporations
- Foreign Nonprofit Corporations
- Foreign LLPs
