Duraswitch Licensee, Dawar, Combines PushGate and MagnaMouse Technologies for Broadcast Transmitter Controls PHOENIX, June 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- InPlay Technologies (NASDAQ:NPLA) announced today that Duraswitch licensee, Dawar, has developed the control panels for broadcast transmitters for a premier provider of radio frequency equipment and broadcast systems for television and broadband wireless/MMDS industries. The panel integrates 29 Duraswitch PushGate(R) pushbuttons and a MagnaMouseTM multidirectional control. "With the Duraswitch technologies, we were able to provide the customer a lower cost, high performance interface panel for their products," said Peter Jarzynka, director of sales, Dawar. "The Duraswitch technology offers far greater reliability versus typical metal dome technology. This performance is critical for the broadcast TV business which demands top quality equipment, ensuring that their stations stay on the air," Jarzynka continued. Dawar has received approval on the prototypes for the project and expects to begin production in September 2005. Tim Kuhn, vice president business development, InPlay Technologies, commented, "With this design, Dawar has demonstrated that the Duraswitch technology can provide a top-of-the-line switch interface and maintain a competitive price." PushGate is a unique pushbutton that employs the simple combination of a metal actuator and a permanent magnet. PushGate provides superior tactile feedback that does not degrade over time or use. Using the natural force of magnetism instead of flexing domes or springs, PushGate is substantially more durable than conventional switch technologies. The Duraswitch MagnaMouse is a multi-directional cursor control that allows for cursor movement in a flat-panel design. This technology offers durability and environmental sealing improvements over alternative cursor technologies and allows digital or analog design options. MagnaMouse works with rubber or hard keycap overlays and basic flat-panel polyester overlays. MagnaMouse is easily integrated with PushGate or other pushbutton technologies into one thin panel, eliminating secondary assembly processes.
