"With our Datawatch partnership, we now offer the best data visualization software available for real-time predictive analysis of supply chain disruptions," said Frantisek Vrabel, chief executive officer for Semantic Visions.  "Big Data and the accelerating pace of business are placing a premium on the ability to easily access and visually explore vast amounts of supply chain information at any speed, especially real-time. As a Big Data solution based on the SAP HANA platform, we needed a next-generation analytic solution that could visualize vast amounts of information in real-time and Datawatch was the only product that could meet these requirements."

Using a proprietary semantic web mining system, Semantic Visions' Vega automatically "reads" one million articles in 11 languages from 160,000 news sources to identify and predict potential supply chain disruptions caused by any number of possible sources including: natural disasters, industrial accidents, war, terror, social unrest, labor disputes, crime, legal actions and other threats. The Datawatch powered user interface with advanced real-time visualizations displays the complex results in an uncluttered and intuitive manner to empower better business decisions.

"To stay competitive, manufacturers need to harness and visualize all of the relevant information to run their business regardless of its type, its size or the speed in which it's delivered," said Ben Plummer, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of Strategic Alliances for Datawatch.  "Semantic Visions' Vega is an excellent example of an emerging groundbreaking analytic application that combines the in-memory performance of SAP HANA with real-time visual data discovery from Datawatch."
