U.S. Bancorp's Profit Rises 16%

U.S. Bancorp (USB) reported a greater profit in its third
quarter from the comparable quarter a year earlier as its
noninterest income and net interest income rose more than the
company's expenses.
The company reported earnings of $1.82 billion, up 16% from
$1.56 billion in year-ago period. U.S. Bancorp said earnings per
share were $1.06 compared with 88 cents. Analysts polled by FactSet
were expecting earnings of $1.04 a share.
U.S. Bancorp's total net revenue climbed 2.4% to $5.7 billion.
Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting revenue of $5.69
billion.
Shares rose 1.5% premarket on low volume. Since the start of
2018, they've fallen 4.9%.
