Prosecutors Talked to Cuomo About Ex-Aide

Gov. Andrew Cuomo disclosed Thursday that he was interviewed by federal prosecutors in recent weeks in the criminal case against former top aide Joseph Percoco and seven other defendants.

Mr. Cuomo, a Democrat, said he spoke to prosecutors in the office of Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara "in preparation for" the case against Mr. Percoco and the other defendants, many of whom also have close ties to the governor.

Mr. Cuomo indicated that the interview occurred before the November indictment.

Mr. Percoco, who was executive deputy secretary to the governor until earlier this year, and the others were charged in a criminal complaint in September involving two alleged bribery schemes.

All of the defendants have pleaded not guilty.

New Device Screens Secaucus Passengers

Commuters at NJ Transit's Secaucus Junction rail station are being screened for explosives.

The railroad and the Transportation Security Administration started using a passive device on Wednesday. It monitors body density and riders don't have to stop and empty their pockets.

TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein said the agency, NJ Transit and other mass-transit agencies are evaluating the new piece of security screening technology in a temporary field test.

An older version was used at the station during the Super Bowl in 2014.
