October 13 2016 - 8:00AM
Windstream (NASDAQ:WIN), a leading provider of advanced network
communications, today announced that it will provide optical Wave
services to ManagedWay, connecting select data centers in the Metro
Detroit market. ManagedWay—a Troy, Mich.-based company, providing
cloud, data center, Internet, transport and IT managed services to
business organizations—recently announced the opening of its
state-of-the-art, 45,000-square-foot data center in Troy, a
facility incorporating the latest advancements for business
reliability, security and efficiency.
Recognized for its outstanding client support programs and 24/7
on-site IT certified professionals, ManagedWay has already
attracted thousands of business customers. With the addition of
Windstream’s highly available optical Wave services to strengthen
networking between the Troy location and its Byron Center facility
in Grand Rapids, Mich., ManagedWay will be even better equipped to
secure business opportunities across its key industry segments
including technology, advertising, education and manufacturing
firms. Fortifying connectivity between the two major
centers provides the additional redundancy and security required to
successfully operate large scale data center facilities.
“Windstream’s Wave service is a perfect solution to fit
ManagedWay’s needs, with their rapid business growth,” said Tom
Brown, vice president of sales for Windstream’s wholesale business
unit. “Adding this additional bandwidth allows ManagedWay to keep
onboarding new customers quickly and seamlessly, while maintaining
the flow of critical daily business operations between their data
centers.”
Windstream’s Wave services support today’s massive data demands
– cloud computing, multimedia and bandwidth intensive applications
– with speeds ranging from 1G to 100G, over Windstream’s 125,000
mile fiber network, the sixth largest in the nation. The
customizable, scalable solutions offer low-latency, secure,
completely transparent and dedicated end-to-end transport with
multiple diversity and protection options.
ManagedWay’s Troy facility is a premier data center which is
both technologically and geographically ideal for security and
market accessibility. The National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Association rated Troy as a top ten city in the United
States safest from natural disasters. The area is also
situated in an excellent location in terms of market accessibility,
meaning that it sits within 500 miles of a high percentage of the
U.S. and Canadian population.
“The alliance with Windstream is a natural fit for us,
especially with the significant benefit it brings to our customers
– the always-on connectivity between our centers in this market,”
said Robert Sanders, President and CEO of ManagedWay. “ManagedWay
has experienced significant growth over the past couple of years,
and this partnership paves the way for continued success while
bringing additional capabilities to our clients.”
