reggae artist Bob Marley, will host
an intimate evening, brought to you by Tweed, celebrating the
commitment and contributions of six remarkable women who are
pioneers of the medical cannabis movement and industry in
Canada. These women have worked
tirelessly to advocate for patients and educate policy makers,
physicians and the public about medical cannabis. The conversation
will also cover the opportunities and limitations – both for women
and the community – of Canada's
current medical cannabis system under the Marihuana for
Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR), as well as a look ahead at
what legalization of recreational use of marijuana might
mean for patients.

Candidate at the University of Toronto

and Vice-President of Canadian Students for Sensible Drug
Policy.
- Erin Prosk, co-founder of
Santé Cannabis, whose mission is to re-integrate cannabis into the
practice of medicine and pharmacy.
- Mandy McKnight,
"accidental activist" for safe access to medical cannabis, whose 7
year-old son Liam, one of the youngest patients authorized under
the MMPR, uses cannabis to control seizures caused by an
intractable form of pediatric epilepsy.
- Lisa Campbell, Outreach
Director for Canadian Students for Sensible Drug Policy since 2013
and the founder of Women Grow Toronto.
- Donisha Prendergast,
filmmaker and Human Rights Activist, and also acts as the Youth
Voice for the Marley Family.
