According to the American Psychological Association, 64 percent of Americans experience significant stress around money. For millennials, that number increases to 75 percent, and it continues to rise for parents, with 77 percent listing money as a major source of stress. Furthermore, stress-related symptoms are the most common reason people go to the doctor.

“The single biggest cause of stress in the U.S. is money and as a community bank, we believe we have an obligation to invest in the health of the communities we serve,” said Ray Davis, president and CEO of Umpqua Bank. “Online and in our stores, our goal is to create environments that encourage people to talk about and manage their finances. We’ve created Made to Grow to inspire and encourage conversations about money, while demystifying the reasons people are often afraid to start them.”
