Whitehurst Moves to Investor Relations, Wehn to Treasury at
Reynolds American WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., Aug. 11
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ken Whitehurst has been appointed vice
president - investor relations for Reynolds American Inc.
(NYSE:RAI), succeeding Carole Biermann Wehn, who has been appointed
vice president and assistant treasurer. Reynolds American, which
became a publicly traded holding company on July 30, is the parent
company of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, Lane Limited, Santa Fe
Natural Tobacco Company, Inc. and R.J. Reynolds Global Products,
Inc. In his new position, Whitehurst is the company's chief liaison
with the investment community. Wehn's new responsibilities include
overseeing issues and activities concerning capital markets,
insurance and pension. From January 2001 to August 2004, Whitehurst
was vice president - corporate business development for R.J.
Reynolds Tobacco Holdings, Inc. (RJR). During his tenure in that
role, the company acquired Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company,
established an international tobacco joint venture company with
Gallaher Group Plc, acquired Lane Limited and merged with Brown
& Williamson Tobacco Corporation. Wehn was vice president -
investor relations from June 2003 through July 2004. Prior to that,
she spent four years as vice president and general auditor for RJR.
