The forum topic, Data is the New Oil: How Will MoviePass
Monetize It? Will feature a discussion with Lowe and Farnsworth as
they share how MoviePass utilizes data, their growth-focused
business model, and their plan to revitalize the movie industry.
Co-Editor-in-Chief of Variety Andrew Wallenstein will serve as the
discussion’s moderator.
“All eyes are on MoviePass as they continue to challenge and
disrupt the movie business model. While the majority of their
strategic moves have been announced via trade magazines, we wanted
to give them the opportunity to join us live and in person at the
Entertainment Finance Forum,” said Katherine Winston, Co-Founder
and Managing Partner of Winston Baker. “We hope our event will
serve as a platform to meet and collaborate with industry
executives face to face.”
“It is an important time to be making change in the film
business,” said MoviePass CEO Mitch Lowe. “We are on the precipice
of a Renaissance in film, where underrepresented filmmakers can
attract audiences every bit as successfully as blockbusters. Our
goal is to do our part in making the entire entertainment ecosystem
successful.”
“We have a real opportunity here to use data to inform the movie
business about their audiences and, more importantly, to deliver
real intelligence on what works and what doesn’t,” said HMNY CEO
Ted Farnsworth. “We're rolling up our sleeves now and working
closely with our data to understand the impact of films on
audiences and to bring this intelligence to our partners in the
industry.”
