European Union regulators on Monday are expected to approve
Google Inc.'s (GOOG) $12.5 billion acquisition of Motorola Mobility
(MM), Reuters reported Friday, citing people familiar with the
matter.
The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that the U.S.
Justice Department is expected to approve the deal, possibly next
week.
The acquisition, which was announced in August, still needs
regulatory approval in China, Israel and Taiwan, Reuters said. In
China, regulators have until March 20 to issue a decision on
approving the transaction or reviewing it further, Reuters said,
citing a source close to the situation.
Motorola and Google representatives declined to comment to
Reuters, according to the report.
