WASHINGTON, July 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has been awarded a 30-month, $25 million contract to modernize and support high-bandwidth network cabling at Air National Guard (ANG) sites nationwide.  The project was awarded under the Network-Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract vehicle.

Under the contract, Harris will deliver an integrated, high-bandwidth, structured cabling system at 15 ANG sites to upgrade their network infrastructure.  All of the sites will require engineering and installation services, while two will require complete survey and design.

The ANG is part of the state National Guard and is divided up into units stationed in each of the 50 states and U.S. territories and operates under their respective state or territorial government.  The ANG may be called upon to help respond to domestic emergencies and disasters.
