ABB Ltd. (ABBN.EB) said Friday that it plans to invest 100
million euros ($122.6 million) in a research and training campus in
Austria and expects to create around 1,000 jobs in the country.
The investments comes a year after ABB bought machine and
factory-automation company Bernecker & Rainer
Industrie-Elektronik GmbH, which is based in Eggelsberg, Austria,
where the campus will be built.
At the new research and development facility, ABB plans to
develop automation technologies and to train partners and
employees, it said. It is expected to open in 2020, ABB said.
