As the New Year quickly approaches, Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ:
CTAS), the leader in secure document management, today announced
submissions are open to win a trip to the fourth annual Good
Riddance Day celebration in New York City on Dec. 28, 2010. To
enter, contestants must submit a picture of the item they would
like to say “good riddance” to forever and describe why in 500
words or less.
For this annual New Year’s tradition, Cintas is providing one of
its large, mobile shredding trucks in Times Square for participants
to watch their funny, outlandish and forgettable memories of 2010
get sliced into pieces. Whether you want to shred a picture of an
old flame, a pink slip or a pile of parking tickets, anything
goes!
A panel of judges from Cintas Document Management will award the
grand prize winner with a five-night trip to New York City to
destroy their item in person on Good Riddance Day and ring in the
New Year as a VIP in Times Square. Entries can be submitted at
www.cintas.com/goodriddanceday.
“The New Year is the perfect time to start fresh,” said Dave
Pollak, Chief Marketing Officer, Cintas. “We are excited to award
the grand prize winner with the chance to say goodbye to their
troubles and worries from 2010 at Good Riddance Day. Afterward, the
winner can celebrate by ringing in the New Year with a clean slate
at the most famous New Year’s Eve celebration in the world.”
The grand prize includes:
- Two roundtrip airfare
tickets
- Five-night stay at Wyndham
Garden Hotel – Times Square South
- Two VIP passes to an exclusive
pre-viewing of the Waterford Crystal Times Square New Year's Eve
Ball on Dec. 30
- Two “There Be Love" Waterford
Crystal toasting flutes
Cintas teamed up with the co-organizers of New Year’s Eve in
Times Square, the Times Square Alliance and Countdown
Entertainment, to invite the public to say goodbye, once and for
all, to the bad memories of 2010. The event will take place on Dec.
28, in Broadway Plaza between 46th and 47th Streets from 12 p.m. to
2 p.m. The event is open to the public to discard any unpleasant,
embarrassing and downright depressing memories from 2010.
“In Times Square, we like to do everything in dramatic style,
like annihilating a whole year’s worth unwanted memories – from
worthless stock certificates to nightmare hairstyles, and fashion
disasters,” said Tim Tompkins, President of the Times Square
Alliance. “We are thrilled that Cintas’ contest is going to bring
someone with a great story to New York to celebrate with us and to
put the past behind them.”
"We are proud to partner with Cintas to securely shred all of
the unpleasant memories from 2010,” added Jeffrey Straus,
President, Countdown Entertainment. "With Cintas’ secure, mobile
shredding truck, participants can ensure all of their memories will
be safely destroyed, never to be seen again, as they prepare to
celebrate the New Year in Times Square.”
All contest entries will be destroyed at Good Riddance Day to
give all participants a fresh start. A Cintas document management
truck will be on-site during the event to ensure all items are
securely destroyed and recycled.
Submissions must be received by Friday, November 12, at 5 p.m.
Eastern.
