Cintas Selected to Become Member of PCI Security Standards Council

Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS), the leader in secure document management services, today announced it has been selected by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council to become a participating organization of its global forum. This membership will enable Cintas to play an active role in the ongoing development of PCI standards and work to evolve the PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) and other payment card data protection standards.

Cintas is the first North American AAA NAID-certified and PCI DSS compliant document management provider. Its document shredding and storage solutions have been PCI DSS compliant since June 2009, which certifies they meet the stringent and comprehensive requirements set by the council and adhere to the information security controls and processes that ensure data integrity. In an era of increasingly sophisticated attacks on systems, adhering to the PCI DSS represents an entity’s best protection against data criminals.

Founded by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa, Inc., the council is designed to enhance payment account data security by driving education and awareness of the PCI Security Standards. As a member, Cintas will now be able to review the latest standards and provide input and feedback to improve processes.
