United Parcel Service Unveils $1.4 Billion Pennsylvania Expansion

United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS) on Wednesday said it will
invest about $1.4 billion in an expansion of its operations in
Pennsylvania, creating 1,700 new jobs.
The Atlanta package-delivery giant said the expansion is part of
its plans to add more than 5 million square feet of new highly
automated package-processing capacity globally this year.
UPS said it will open a new "super hub" in the state capital of
Harrisburg, along with highly automated package operations in
Carlisle, Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia.
The company currently has more than 19,000 employees in
Pennsylvania.
