Click here for info about GEN-3

They are preparing for the next version, let's call it GEN-3, as it is obvious that GEN-2, as expected by many observers, does not seem to be scalable under the current specifications. Read the following very carefully, even between the lines:

"This is simply the introduction of a new methodology that bears many similarities to our nanoparticle technology while benefiting from an already mature manufacturing platform."

This is an interesting company. It sounds like they have cracked the code and are now just working on scaling. Which can admittedly be a huge hill to climb. The South Koreans and Germans are good people to be working with. It's still a lottery ticket, but worth a shot even with 5 billion OS.

Letter to Shareholders From CEO Tim Young
June 10, 2024

Dear SunHydrogen shareholders and supporters,

Since filing our first patent in November of 2011, we have worked steadfastly to bring our nanoparticle-based solar water-splitting technology to market and make low-cost, truly green hydrogen a reality worldwide. In the years since, we have made significant progress toward our goal: We have amassed multiple international patents, engaged numerous industrial partners at the cutting edge of our field, and navigated many challenges.

We believe our methodology for this completely homegrown multi-junction semiconductor will be the holy grail of green hydrogen production, and we are committed to making it happen: Most recently, we have worked diligently to translate our lab-scale success to commercial scale with our partner COTEC of South Korea, a world leader in industrial electroplating and electrochemical processes, as well as with several German companies and institutions through Project NanoPEC.

In the simplest terms, our nanoparticle technology involves depositing billions of microscopic multi-junction solar cells with catalysts, each able to efficiently split water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen. The goal is not only to scale this system to the size of today’s traditional solar panels, but to do so at a cost that is competitive with the highly pollutive natural gas-derived hydrogen used in the fertilizer, gas refining, and steel manufacturing industries. Furthermore, when integrated with fuel cell technology, renewable hydrogen from companies like SunHydrogen will one day be competitive with fossil fuel powered cars, buses, trains, and ships that dominate today’s mobility market.

As evidenced by the number of years our efforts have required, this methodology presents challenges and requires patience, but its merits in efficiency and economics demand that we continue pushing forward to make it a reality.

Approximately 18 months ago, we began developing a strategy we believed could bring us to market faster. This system utilizes commercially available and mass-produced thin film solar cells and modules which are re-engineered with our proprietary hydrogen module design to provide fault tolerance and improve hydrogen production efficiency. While this strategy operates on principles very similar to our nanoparticle technology, it benefits from a mature manufacturing platform, enabling earlier market entry. Through an introduction from scientific adviser Dr. Arthur Nozik, we collaborated with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, CO to measure the efficacy of this method.

Over the past year, we have been working with a global innovator of thin film solar cell modules to minimize changes to the existing mass manufacturing process for electricity-producing modules so we can instead produce hydrogen-generation modules. These modules can be easily scaled into hydrogen producing-arrays, similar to the size of existing solar arrays you see on rooftops and solar farms around the world. They have also proven to be 98% recyclable after their expected lifetime of 20 years.

Visit our YouTube channel to view our first demonstration video outside the SunHydrogen laboratory in Coralville, Iowa.

We will soon be demonstrating this new green hydrogen production technology integrated into our housing reactors. We are working with top scientists and industrial partners to bring this to market, first in pilot scale and then onto full manufacturing.

As we share more information and milestones with you, I’d like to reiterate that we are fully committed to our patented nanoparticle approach to green hydrogen: This is simply the introduction of a new methodology that bears many similarities to our nanoparticle technology while benefiting from an already mature manufacturing platform.

Our primary goal has always been to replace fossil fuel-derived hydrogen with truly green hydrogen, and if we believe there is a way for us to more quickly achieve this goal and enter the market, we feel it is in our shareholders’ interest to use our existing foundation and breadth of knowledge to do so.

Thank you very much for your support and patience.

Sincerely,

Timothy Young, CEO

HYSR after 15 years has nothing and still no possibility for commercial hydrogen production. Amazingly, Toyota has a real and near term solution and it is close to road testing. It is the water engine, an internal combustion engine powered by water ! On board electrolysis providing the Hydrogen. I thought this would happen long ago but it took an automotive giant to step up! This is really cool and without the HYPE-r hype!
Enjoy!

Exactly, just under 6 years to go, then the shareholders of presumably 9.5 billion shares will have done it: Tim will go into well-deserved retirement before the merger with Teco flushes the Sunhydrogen cash that will hopefully still be available into Teco's coffers, as Teco does not consider Gen-3 to be promising. But cash is always welcome. And Tim gets a bonus from Teco for his retirement, because he arranged everything. Congratulations.

Partnership between COTEC and SunHydrogen will see the scale-up of green hydrogen panels SunHydrogen and COTEC have created an industrial partnership, in which they have decided to focus on scaling-up the production of 1m² green hydrogen panels.

COTEC is a South Korean-based company, who recently created a laboratory that is intended for SunHydrogen’s technology. The laboratory is suitable for the technology and so far, COTEC have been able to replicate the technology’s proprietary process on a laboratory scale, through the use of advanced industrial electroplating techniques.

This large development for this technology has been created due to the significance of it. The technology is said to be the only self-contained nanoparticle-based hydrogen generation device, which has the ability to split water molecules into high-purity green hydrogen. The solar panel SunHydrogen developed for the technology is made-up of multiple generators immersed in water. Each of these solar panels has billions of electroplated nanoparticles inside it.

The creation of this laboratory was completed for the scale-up of the technology, but also with the intention of accelerating the company’s progress to commercialisation. With its technology in the laboratory, SunHydrogen was able to gather a group of industrial partners and collaborators. These parties include the University of Iowa, the University of Michigan, Project NanoPEC, Geomatec, InRedox, MSC, COTEC, as well as consultants Professor Kazunari Domen, Dr Hiroshi Nishiyama and finally, Dr Taro Yamada from the University of Tokyo.

SunHydrogen’s CEO, Tim Young, expressed the company’s understanding that the scaling up to 1m² would come with, “inherent challenges.” However, alongside these challenges, the view that COTEC is the “ideal partner” who can help SunHydrogen reach their goals and address the challenges is a strong opinion upholding the partnership.

Young also commented, “I would like to thank COTEC for their dedication to our shared goals and our shareholders and supporters for their patience as we work to bring world-changing technology closer to commercialisation.”

SunHydrogen and COTEC of South Korea Advance to Next Phase of Production for 1m² Green Hydrogen Panels
Press Release | 02/05/2024
CORALVILLE, IA, Feb. 05, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SunHydrogen, Inc. (OTCQB: HYSR), the developer of a breakthrough technology to produce renewable green hydrogen using sunlight and water, today announced that the Company has initiated the scale-up phase for production of 1m² green hydrogen panels with its industrial partner, COTEC.

SunHydrogen’s technology is currently the only self-contained nanoparticle-based hydrogen generation device capable of splitting water molecules into high-purity green hydrogen and oxygen using solely the sun’s energy. Just like a solar panel is comprised of multiple cells that generate electricity, the Company’s hydrogen panel encases multiple hydrogen generators immersed in water. Each hydrogen generator contains billions of electroplated nanoparticles, autonomously splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen.

Located in Changwon, South Korea, COTEC is a leader in industrial electroplating and electrochemical processes and holds expertise across the aerospace, automotive, defense, and nuclear industries.

In November, SunHydrogen’s CEO Tim Young visited COTEC’s facility to view firsthand the progress at their newly established laboratory dedicated to SunHydrogen’s technology. Since then, COTEC’s team has successfully replicated SunHydrogen’s proprietary process on a laboratory scale, employing advanced industrial electroplating techniques.

“With the successful completion of COTEC’s initial exploration phase, we're excited to announce the next phase of scaling SunHydrogen’s generators for 1m² green hydrogen panels,” said SunHydrogen’s Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Syed Mubeen.

“Given the breakthrough nature of our technology, our team is mindful of the fact that scaling to 1m² presents inherent challenges, and we believe COTEC is the ideal partner to help us address those challenges,” said SunHydrogen’s CEO Tim Young. “I would like to thank COTEC for their dedication to our shared goals and our shareholders and supporters for their patience as we work to bring world-changing technology closer to commercialization. Our team is delighted to begin 2024 with this work underway, and we look forward to sharing our ongoing progress with you.”

SunHydrogen has engaged a renowned group of industrial partners and collaborators around the world to accelerate the Company’s progress toward commercialization, including: University of Iowa; University of Michigan; Project NanoPEC; Geomatec; InRedox; MSC; COTEC; and consultants Prof. Kazunari Domen, Dr. Hiroshi Nishiyama, and Dr. Taro Yamada of the University of Tokyo.

We just recently finished the developmental phase and that took quite a long time! And I guess by popular demand they engineered a more extensive Akida 2, so this Company has a branding iron still stuck on its rear end, pressing the people to go forward at full blast!

But now the second, third or maybe the fourth phase is now in swing, and not only will logistical and technological problems may slow things down a bit, along with a sluggish economy where smart people won't use their credits cards that much, which may give a false reading on the general economy? But AI, and especially Brainchip's type of AI which does so much, is ?cheaply? run, and can be used in so many ways, which will urge the general population to use it in both financial ways and technical ways! I think the progressive public will use it to make their lives better, besides wanting to see what advanced AI is all about? But they might have to re-surface the Credit cards again! But for many revenue lovers and Technology enthusiasts, there is bound to be new household appliances to buy, new cars using the AI wizardry and maybe some internet games that will be a lot more interesting?? And I am sure I am missing a lot of possibilities with the AKIDA 2 AI doing its thing, so there should be some excitement ahead, because the AKIDA 2 is a breakthrough that could propel many Economies to new highs for quite a few years! But again, who knows where it will go or when it will start? Just realize in medicine alone, the so many glitches that require Years to solve, which in theory can be solved in no time at all with our AKIDA?

I am somewhat statistically minded so I know that questions will arise that give me some answers as where the economy is going? If something interesting occurs I will share them with you, but right now, I have a ton of things to do, so don't hold your breath? GLTA

At least Tim Can give them a call and see that they can do for SunHydrogen?I know it sounds too good to be true, but what is wrong with a person who watched NASA, MERCEDES BENZ, EDGE IMPULSE, & over 100 other Co's, integrate this chip into some of their products, give Tim an idea what is going on outside his lab? It's no joke mister!
