Procera Networks Speeds the Creation of New Broadband Services With Introduction of DPI-Based Software Module

Procera Networks Inc. (AMEX: PKT), a developer of Evolved Deep
Packet Inspection (DPI) solutions providing traffic awareness,
control and protection for complex networks, today announced the
PacketLogic Subscriber Manager (PSM), a robust software suite aimed
at broadband service providers that speeds time-to-market for new
broadband-based services. The PSM accomplishes this by quickly
integrating the PacketLogic platform with surrounding network
systems, such as authentication, policy management and billing,
without requiring the service provider to do extensive custom
integration on its own. This allows broadband service providers to
create personalized offerings that attract new customers, minimize
churn and increase ARPU through value-added services almost
immediately. In addition, location awareness adds the possibility
to resolve, or even avoid, congestions that could degrade
consumers' broadband experience, as well as uncontrolled roaming
costs through automatic policy enforcement.
"The PSM gathers all of our service creation capabilities under
one umbrella suite," said Jon Lindn, Procera's vice president of
global marketing. "We have designed the PSM as configurable
functions that dramatically speed up integration and time-to-market
for new Internet services. By putting this experience and
functionality in source components, PSM provides great scalability
and performance, particularly when compared with custom
integrations, making it possible for PSM to grow with multi-million
subscriber networks which is in line with our Tier-1 operator
focus."
PSM can also connect to end-user portals to provide usage data
and enable rules triggered by end-user selections. This puts more
power in the hands of an end-user, which will unburden help desk
resources and reduce subscriber churn, since a user has customized
the service to suit their specific needs.
"DPI provides a tremendous opportunity to create additional
value for our subscribers through the personalization of Internet
access services," said Johan Andsj, CEO of Yoigo, Spain's
fourth-largest mobile operator. "DPI gives us the intelligence to
be innovative when it comes to winning customers, keeping them, and
finding ways to develop differentiated services for them, three key
success factors in our highly competitive and maturing broadband
market."
"Service creation has an immediate impact on service providers'
bottom-line by resolving issues, increasing customer satisfaction
and adding revenue-generating services," Lindn added. "Service
creation is a cornerstone capability in what we refer to as Evolved
DPI, which goes way beyond P2P control that DPI has been associated
with in the past. For service providers to build business logics
and pricing models based on the data provided by a DPI solution,
they must rely heavily on the accuracy of such data, which is
PacketLogic's strongest value proposition."
