OT: Hey Fish, Caught up on some of your posts on a particularly crappy day here. Thanks for the shout out. Way way back, got a couple of them before you were born. I think the only thing I was spot on, was the fact that this will never be more than a 30-40M Co. For this and many other reasons I was not very popular with this bunch, especially Ardley, wonder what ever happened to him? I have zero regrets getting out, took that money and made a lot more after I sent it to my guy. Anyway, be well and the best to you and yours..

If Director Gregg Johnson is in attendance at the shareholder meeting ask him why he only owns 2100 shares of VTSI. He needs to be kicked off the board as in my opinion he adds no value and, in fact, hurts the Boards credibility.

Ask Givens why he doesn’t buy shares in the open market?

All these A-wipes were pounding their chests when the stock was $17, now it’s $6. Pathetic.

Question about the Annual Stockholders Meeting to Be Held on October 21, 2024. I am planning on going to the meeting but does anybody know if Vitra is planing anything on Tuesday the 22nd as I am preparing to make my plans and considering on leaving at 11:59pm flight back to New York on the 21st.

Yahoo Finance reports institutional ownership at 28% and I don’t believe that number either. Institutional ownership has to be way over 50% and I bet it was pushing 70% when the stock was $17.

Sharing because of this sentence" "The VirTra V-300 Simulator was purchased through the U.S. Department of Justice's Community Oriented Policing Services Office De-Escalation Grant program."

More about that program here: https://cops.usdoj.gov/de-escalation_training_act

Looks like Knoxville, TN got their $250,000 awarded in 2023 under the same program
https://cops.usdoj.gov/pdf/2023AwardDocs/cpd/Award_List.pdf (Scroll down to Tennessee)
Memphis go the same amount for a "de-escalation" grant, though can't find out any more details on these grants.

Regardless, hope past awards aren't being held up any longer since this adversely impacted VTSI's revenues the past two quarters.

Ditto here.
What bugs me the most about Givens (and his pos directors) is his (and the directors) seeming refusal to buy shares. He (and any director) could set up a plan to buy 5000 shares each month and it would automatically happen regardless of his (or their) insider knowledge. …..Maybe I’ll go to the shareholder meeting and push him on this point.

I am not really sure why a company gets so dummied up quiet like this one does. They have to have sales coming but you have to be a sleuth to find it.

Frankly, if someone wants to offer 10.00 a share right now based on what these guys have done these past 6 months, I'd gladly take it lol
👍️0
fishhunter fishhunter 4 weeks ago
I must be the only one buying. EV now $60mil. Givens needs to buy some shares….or he might lose the company within a month. A hostile buyout at $10 would sail through right now.

Just fun to speculate. I do think insiders need to step up.

Who would have thought 5, 10, 15 years ago that in 2024 one could buy VTSI at $7 (same as 35cents before the 1 for 20split) per share when it had already become a real sustainable growing company with a very good CEO and even brighter future? To long time readers here, the answer to my question is Bill. He has been more right about VirTra than any of us.

At $17, people were trampling each other for VTSI shares that were obviously priced for perfection. Now at $7 VTSI is priced for ho hum low growth, mediocre results…..and no one is buying? I bought more today at 7.18avg.

I'd have to listen again to the CC, but I think Givens said something again about connecting municipalities with different various government grant opportunities. So, any salesperson would also have to have a very good understanding of the government bureaucracy in order to help clients finance their purchases with any such state or federal grants.
👍️ 2
fishhunter fishhunter 1 month ago
Incentives are helpful but the sales people need to know how to sell $300k systems to municipalities.
It’s funny, for the first 13 years I owned this stock (2009 to 2023) I was pretty convinced one good sales person could sink or destroy the company (giant orders company couldn’t fill). Now that the company CAN fill any size order quickly, I fear that the company is incapable of hiring great sales people to get those orders.
The sad part is , it is easy to hire the right salesmen, poach the best from Aaon or Trane or maybe even Axon.

I like it now that Givens is operating without the anchor around his neck. There is no reason he can't succeed unless his ego gets in the way. Again, I m encouraged by yesterday's 10Q and by how this traded today. Today it looked like we bottomed at $6.42 and closed above $7.00. Tomorrow will be a good test if the bottoms in and if we continue on an upward path. I bought more today as well after it bounced. Now all we need is some positive news. I am hoping Givens gives us more than he did last quarter.

I see it exactly the opposite of you. This guy admitted at the last cc he didn’t turn his attention to the sales org until it was too late. He has fixed operations with the completed ERP system. He also dumped Burlend praise the Lord. The Street cuts him some slack cuz he has done it before.

Once Sales Org is producing he needs to redo the BOD. Get rid of Johnson and others. Slackers and mouth breathers all of them.

Bought more at $7.

I'm surprised how much leeway the CEO gets here. He's been saying the same thing for many quarters in a row now -- "we fixed processes. we're fixing the sales team. V-XR will launch soon. There's a big opportunity in healthcare. Focus on military for higher sales with less effort. Grant funding is slowing our bookings. International is waiting on budgets. I'm trying not to give forward looking statements. I'm not going to PR anything"

Not saying he's not doing a good job of improving things nor that the company won't succeed, but news flows and conference calls seem much less useful now than they used to be.

Got to have a leader that values sales. That will allow good salespeople to earn more than owners sometimes. Like anything, whoever is leading sales, needs a plan with goals and outcomes. I want sales people who want to be entrepreneurs. Professionals who want to build a perpetual business. Virtra has never had that. They've had a swinging door of sales people coming and going. That doesn't tell me they value sales but look at salespeople as a liability. When that thought process changes, sales will surge. That's what I am hoping now, New leadership and hopefully a more focused vision. Just my opinion.

fishhunter fishhunter 1 month ago
I agree with you, but…..based again on how Givens describes selling to police depts and municipalities he really doesn’t understand the process. Hopefully one of his hires can explain it to him.
I will never understand why a company like VirTra, selling what they do to who they do, doesn’t walk into Trane or Aaon or maybe even Axon and poach the best salesmen they have.

Well, the "perfect storm" occurred at the right time and Givens' laid out what looks to be a potentially fruitful 3rd & 4th quarters. I am encouraged by the emphasis on sales. It sounds like Virtra is finally focusing on sales in a big way per Given's comments yesterday. Time will tell but I haven't seen this type of forward statement regrading this broad of an attempt in sales before. We will see.

On the q&a Alanna clarified that the margins were the result of a perfect storm of factors breaking in their favor and they’d return to 60s soon or slightly lower if needed to grown the headset business. The good profitability this Q was lucky.

I don't look at this as a negative quarter. It is remarkable that their net profit was higher this quarter than a year ago on 40% less revenue. The reported sales initiative appears to be moving forward.

I am a lot more excited about this today than I was Friday.

I believe this is overdone now. With Ferris out of the picture, this stock finally has a chance to make a big move. Obviously, these guys have to produce but I sure like what I hear so far.

Just my opinion.
