The company is pleased to announce the appointment today (March
12) of Mr JGL Edwards and Mr GH Gresham as executive directors.

Mr Edwards, aged 50, joined Bacol Industries Limited in 1970, was
appointed as a director of that subsidiary in 1986 and promoted to
chief executive in 1994.  In 2001 he was appointed an associate
director of Metalrax Group PLC and he holds other subsidiary
company directorships and responsibilities within the engineering
and storage products division.

Mr Gresham, aged 43, joined George Wilkinson (Burnley) Limited in
1990, was promoted to marketing director in 1992, and appointed
chief executive in January 2001.  In 2001 he was also appointed an
associate director of Metalrax Group PLC and he holds other
subsidiary company directorships and responsibilities within the
housewares division.

To make way for these promotions Mr WI Campion and Mr DM Coombs
have retired from the board having respectively served the group
for periods of 37 and 27 years.
