STOCKHOLM--Swedish industrial tool maker Atlas Copco AB said Wednesday it will invest 70 million euros ($73.7 million) over three years in production capacity and expanding research and development at its existing facilities in Antwerp, Belgium.

The investments include an extension of the Compressor Technique unit's smart factory, as well as production technology, it said.

The investments in Wilrijk--the area of Antwerp where Atlas Copco develops and produces compressors--will be in production technology and machinery, expansion of laboratories, additional production space for key compressor components, and more office space, it added.

Atlas Copco will also continue to invest in upskilling the workforce, it said.
