DETROIT, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- DTE Energy said today that Local 223, Utility Workers Union of America Gas Division, and Local 799 of the International Chemical Workers Union, have ratified new three-year contracts with the company. The agreements addressed wages, healthcare, job security and attendance. Local 223 Trades and Office, Professional Technical divisions did not ratify the joint tentative agreement. The company said it will continue working with the union toward resolution. DTE Energy has given Local 223 the required 45-day notice before the company may elect to terminate the contract with the Trades and Office, Professional Technical divisions. The company is hopeful an agreement can be reached during the 45-day notification period. Main table negotiations between the company and Local 223 formally began in April, and concluded with a tentative agreement recommended by the Union bargaining team in mid-August. Terms of the existing labor agreement have been extended since that time.
