General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. secured a $967.2 million modification to a previously awarded submarine contract.

The Groton, Conn.-based unit's work under the contract will consist of lead yard support and development studies and design efforts pertaining to Virginia Class submarines, the company said Tuesday.

The work is expected to be completed in October 2024.
