SSE PLC and Brookfield Asset Management have signed a power purchase agreement with a consortium of Dutch industrial companies for the supply of electricity from the Hollandse Kust West offshore wind farm in the Netherlands.

The U.K. energy group said Thursday that the consortium, which represents 13 large and small consumers, will receive a large part of the power produced by the 700-megawatt wind farm for 15 years.

"The contract provides critical renewable power to Dutch industrial companies, some of which do not have an investment grade credit rating and therefore could otherwise not access low carbon energy in this way," SSE said.

SSE and asset manager Brookfield last week submitted joint bids for the Hollandse Kust West offshore wind tenders.
