Varian Semiconductor Ranks in the Top Ten on the Boston Globe 100 List

GLOUCESTER, MA today announced that the company achieved the number 10 position in the Boston Globe's annual ranking of the 100 best performing companies in Massachusetts.

Based on a composite score derived from financial data for the four quarters ending December 31, 2007, Varian Semiconductor was ranked tenth among Massachusetts-based companies whose stock is publicly traded on NASDAQ, New York Stock Exchange or American Stock Exchange. Varian Semiconductor moved up from the number 13 position last year.
