Shares of Spark Therapeutics Inc. (ONCE) more than doubled in premarket trading Monday after the biotechnology agreed to be acquired by Swiss drugmaker Roche Holding AG (ROG.EB) for $114.50 a share.

The takeover price represents a premium of 122% to Spark's Friday closing price of $51.56 and is well above the Philadelphia company's 52-week high of $96.59 reached in July 2018.

Spark shares jumped 121% to $113.95 in premarket trading Monday.
